Which course is right for me as a beginner?
We have a wide selection of courses, almost all of which are suitable for beginners as well as advanced learners. Some of the wheel throwing courses are advanced courses and require a basic knowledge of throwing.
What is the difference between throwing and hand building?
There are several different handbuilding techniques in ceramics, such as pinching, coiling and slabbuilding. For throwing, a potter's wheel is needed.
How do I choose between an individual course and a membership?
If you are a beginner or want to learn more about a particular technique, it's a good idea to start with one of our courses. When you can work independently and are familiar with different techniques, you are welcome to become a member.
How many participants are there per course?
Ceramics courses have a maximum of 12 participants, while wheel-throwing courses are limited to 4.
What's included in the course price?
The price includes materials, glazing (done by our staff), firing, and coffee and biscuits. VAT (25.5%) is included.
What should I wear to the course, do I need to bring my own materials?
We have aprons available to borrow at the studio, but it's a good idea to wear clothes that can get dirty. You don't need to bring anything else!
Do I get to take home what I made, and when?
After the course, it takes about 3–4 weeks before you get your piece home. It needs to dry, then be glazed and fired. We'll let you know once it's ready.
Can I book a course spot as a gift for someone else?
Yes, you're welcome to book a course as a gift for someone else.
